Julia Elms

My artworks are a reflection of my desire to truly understand what I am depicting to my audience. From the wonders of nature to the structures of the man-made, I have always been fascinated with the basic building blocks that make up the world around us.

I am currently honing my skills to accurately reflect the subjects that I am studying. I have a particular love of animals and am currently studying their anatomy and their range of movement to provide an interesting and dynamic subject source for my artworks.

In my works I attempt to convey the beauty of the animals I am making artworks of as well as their vulnerability and the fragility of their place in our world. As such, the works I am showing in this exhibition consist of animals that are extinct, vulnerable and plenty.
