Many things can influence me, but I feel music influences me the most. Music is my drive for art. I love to work with shape, line, pattern and texture, and also try to relate my work to some form of cultural or social topics. Currently, botanics and plant life/earth forms, along with architecture/buildings scapes are what I am focusing my works around. When I look at the buildings around me I take in their structure and I look at the shapes that make up these structures. When I look at plants I focus on their shape and their repeated form. I look at both things generally in the same way and putting the two together in one project may let others see them in the same way too. One of the main reasons I love Sydney is the buildings, mainly the structures in the city suburbs. I have always had an interest in plants and botanical matter and I feel like I will always be creating work that incorporates plants. These projects work with vibrant linocut prints and embroidery on film produced photographs. 

 

My works for this exhibition use and capture the main elements of art; colour, line, shape, form, texture and space. The prints and embroidered photographs tie in with each-other and I hope the layout encourages the audience to engage with the work.
